What does a Reservations Manager Do? 

The Reservations Manager is an integral part of the Conference and Event Services Team. This position is responsible for overseeing all housing reservations within Tufts for the summer.  The Reservations Manager must maintain up to date and consistent records for all conference and non-conference guests using a combination of both online and off-line reservations software.  This person must also maintain accurate floor plans and counts of the guest population throughout the summer. He/she/they will be responsible for maintaining active databases for all guests, past and current, throughout the summer.

They will work closely with the Guest Services Reps to plan room blocks, accommodate special needs for guests, and provide information regarding housing availability for all clients. Additionally, this person will be expected to communicate housing assignments to all appropriate parties, especially the Front Desk and Operations teams, who will be helping to prepare materials and rooms for guest arrivals. Furthermore, this person will be expected to communicate with other Tufts departments to complete various tasks as well as when the situation calls for other departmental involvement. Reservations Managers will mostly report to the Assistant Manager and other times report to the Associate Director.

A successful Reservations Manager will have a background in housing management, database management and/or hospitality. It is preferred that candidates already have previous experience with working with our department but highly qualified candidates without experience with our department can be considered as well. A valid US drivers license is preferred, but not required.
